About Us
I AM Christian started off with a prompting and a desire to make Christian gifting some years ago (2016 to be exact) but God’s timing meant that it only really started coming into full fruition this year, 2023.
How it started
During an inspiring sermon in the beginning of 2023, the name “I AM Christian” was born. The very first I AM T-shirt design came into being during that same sermon.
A combination of God’s word to Moses in Exodus 3:14 where He declared, “I AM who I AM” and the prompting to stand up and realise exactly who we are in Christ and to acknowledging what Christ has done for us (through many trials and tribulations), became the source of the fuel that reignited the fire to pursue that what had started all those years ago.
The Logo
The logo of the Ichthus (the “Jesus fish”) combined with “I AM” is meaningful in that the history of the Ichthus was that it was used as a symbol in the Roman Empire to secretly identify as a Christian. A dear friend requested that we make him a shirt with the Ichthus on it so that he could use that as a conversation starter on his new venture overseas because he was emigrating to a rather secular country. Whilst, apart from the cross, most Christians recognize the “Jesus Fish” as a symbol of Christianity, many folk in the world do not recognize this symbolism, hence the “conversation starter” t-shirt request.
This lead to the idea that the Ichthus, combined with the words declaring the great I AM, would be the formation of the logo that boldly declares that I AM is the Alpha and Omega, and that we are unashamedly proclaiming that we are Christ followers.
Vibey faith-based clothing
We wanted to make vibey faith-based clothing and gifting more available and accessible and we are increasing our range of products all the time.
The idea behind our wearable products is that they provide the opportunity to visually spread the gospel and, as mentioned above, they create a source of starting a conversation about Jesus. Our gifting and décor products are to serve as constant reminders in our daily lives, of the love, grace and mercy of our Lord and Saviour.
